Wed Jan 16: Water properties readings and hands-on activities:  Lab due Thurs/Fri
Fri Jan 18: Lesson and demonstrations on electrolytes and aqueous solutions

Pathophysiology:
Mon Jan 7: Exchange textbooks, course reflections
Tues Jan 8: Breast cancer news article
Wed/Thurs Jan 9-10: Start cancer statistics posters
Friday Jan 11:  Continue working on posters

Mon Jan 14:  Finish posters, intro to cancer
Wed Jan 16:  Cancer on the cellular level:  lesson and readings
Fri Jan 18:  Analysis of factors that increase cancer risk

Plans for Dec. 10-14

December 9, 2007

Med Micro:  The two classes are on a slightly different schedule due to project presentations and class sizes.  This week the classes will finish presentations on fungal/parasitic diseases, we will make brochures about how to prevent getting sick, and of course we will review for the final exam.

Chemistry:  All class periods should be in the same place:

Monday:  Final Exam Review Pt. 2 - conversions, matter classification
Tuesday:  Review for Wed/Thurs test over gas laws and empirical/molecular formula.
Wednesday/Thursday:  TEST:  Gas Laws and Empirical/Molecular Formula
Final Exam Review Pt. 3 - Bonding, Periodic Table
Friday:  Final Exam Review Pt. 4 - Reactions and Stoichiometry

Chemistry students are being given topic-specific review sheets each day to review for the final exam.  They should finish all the questions on one review sheet before the next review day.  Answer keys to previous sections of the review will be posted in the classroom throughout the week.

Final Exams are Coming Dec. 17-20!

December 3, 2007

Studying suggestions -
Start early!

My tutorial schedule is as follows: Tuesdays after school, Fridays before school, Mondays during lunch. Advance notice is needed for Monday and Friday tutorials because you will need a pass in order to get into the East-2 hallway.

You can start studying by looking over old tests and quizzes. It will help to work through the review sheet you receive in class, but it will also help you to go through your old notes and make your own review sheet including important information that you know that you individually need to study for your final exam!

Lesson Plans Dec. 3-7

November 29, 2007

Med Micro: These classes will be researching fungal or parasitic diseases this week and presenting their projects to the class.
Monday-Tuesday: Project work in library
Project handouts due Wednesday morning by 7:45!!!
Wednesday, Friday: In-class presentations on projects

MED MICRO students: Article review summaries are due Monday Dec. 3. The final draft of Article Reviews are due Monday, December 10!

Chemistry:
Monday: Quiz over calculations - gas laws, emp/mol formulas
Intro to other gas laws: Ideal Gas Law, Dalton’s Law of Partial Pressures
Tuesday: Calculation practice/review game
Wednesday/Thursday: Lab - finding the molar mass and molecular formula of a gas
NOTE: This lab is a MAJOR grade and will be due Monday Dec. 10!
Friday: Review and Quiz over ideal gas law and Dalton’s Law, continue calculation section of lab

CHEMISTRY students: Article reviews are available for extra credit - click on the “projects” link at the top of the page and print out the instructions for the article review assignment.
